    More compact than Bellezia, with deeply lobed leaves and a pungent flavor. Popular with chefs. Edible Flowers: Harvest the yellow flowers as they appear. Sprinkle them over salads or add to vegetable stir-fries. Flavor is spicy and nutty. Popular choice for brightening up salad mix.

    Direct sow ¼ inch deep after last frost; succession sow every 2-3 weeks for continuous harvest; fall sowing 8-10 weeks before first frost for best flavor

  • Growing

    Sun: partial. Water: high. Soil: Well-draining loam with organic matter, pH 6.0-7.0. Space plants 6" apart. Germination: 7-10 days.

    Common pests: Flea beetles, cabbage worms, slugs (generally resistant compared to cultivated lettuces). Common diseases: Downy mildew, bacterial leaf spot (generally disease resistant compared to cultivated lettuces).
