Overview
Low-growing, spreading plant with creeping rhizomes. Has similar uses for teas and medicine as annual chamomile varieties, but produces fewer blossoms.
Planting
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost, press seeds onto surface (light needed for germination), transplant after frost danger; or direct sow outdoors after last frost
Growing
Sun: partial. Water: low. Soil: Well-drained loam, tolerates poor, sandy, or gravelly soils; prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH. Space plants 12" apart. Germination: 7-14 days.
Pests & diseases
Common pests: Aphids, spider mites, sawfly larvae (generally pest-resistant). Common diseases: Root rot in waterlogged soil, powdery mildew in high humidity (generally disease-resistant).
