  • Overview

    Stems are purple; leaves are flat and toothed with purple veins. Mature plants are medium-tall and leaves are tender compared to other kales. For salads and light cooking. Sized seed. Also available in organic seed.

    Direct sow ½ inch deep in early spring or late summer. Can also start indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting.

  • Growing

    Sun: partial. Water: high. Soil pH: 6–7.5. Space plants 12" apart. Germination: 5-10.

    Common pests: Cabbage worms, aphids, flea beetles. Common diseases: Clubroot, black rot, downy mildew.
