Overview
Sturdy and easy to grow. Stems are thicker, stronger, taller, and easier to manage than those of annual gypsophila, an otherwise similar flower. 3/4 to 1" dusty pink blooms float above gray-blue, waxy foliage. Branching plant habit. Also known as soapwort or cow soapwort.
Planting
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date on soil surface (seeds need light), or direct sow outdoors after frost danger passes
Growing
Sun: full. Water: low. Soil: Average to poor soil tolerated; well-drained essential, slightly alkaline to neutral preferred. Space plants 12" apart. Germination: 7-14 days.
