  • Overview

    1 1/2" long green leaves, with purple stems. Known for its use in Hindu culture and Ayurveda. Also known as Tulsi. A common ingredient in Thai cuisine and in teas. Used medicinally for digestion and immune system support. Ht. 16-22".

  • Planting

    Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost or direct sow in warm soil. Allow some flowers for continuous harvest.

  • Growing

    Sun: full. Water: low. Soil pH: 6–7.5. Space plants 8" apart. Germination: 10-15.

  • Pests & diseases

    Common pests: Few pest problems, occasionally aphids. Common diseases: Rare disease issues, very resilient.
