Overview
Flame Star performs very well in both spring and fall trials. Compared to Clementine and Cheddar, Flame Star is paler in color and more tolerant to heat and stress. Pastel-orange heads on medium-large plants.
Planting
Start indoors 5-6 weeks before last frost date, or direct sow in late summer for fall crop
Growing
Sun: partial. Water: high. Soil: Well-drained loam, fertile soil with consistent moisture. Space plants 18" apart. Germination: 7-10 days.

Common pests: Cabbage worms, cabbage loopers, flea beetles, whiteflies. Common diseases: Black rot, clubroot, cauliflower mosaic virus.
