  • Overview

    An heirloom with unique, narrow, tongue-shaped leaves. Pointed, buttery leaves have a crunchy rib and excellent flavor. Slow to bolt. MT0-30.

  • Planting

    Direct seed in early spring through late summer. Can be succession planted every 3-4 weeks. Self-seeds readily for continuous harvests.

  • Growing

    Sun: partial. Water: low. Soil pH: 6–7.5. Space plants 10" apart. Germination: 7-12.

  • Pests & diseases

    Common pests: Slugs, aphids (less susceptible than most lettuce). Common diseases: Downy mildew, bacterial leaf spot (rare).
