    Direct sow after last frost (soil 60°F+), or start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost and transplant after frost danger. Seeds benefit from 30-day cold stratification.

    Sun: full. Water: low. Soil: Poor to moderately fertile, well-drained; tolerates clay and compacted soils. Space plants 24" apart. Germination: 7–14 days.
