  • Overview

    Plants are upright and leaves stay narrow for a long harvest window. Strap leaves with ruffled margins add loft and mildly bitter flavor to salad mixes. For baby leaf only.

  • Planting

    Direct sow ¼ inch deep, ½ inch apart; thin to 6-8 inches spacing. Sow every 2 weeks for continuous harvest.

  • Growing

    Sun: partial. Water: high. Soil: Well-amended loam with compost, pH 6.0-7.0, consistently moist. Space plants 6" apart. Germination: 7-10 days.

  • Pests & diseases

    Common pests: Aphids, slugs, snails, flea beetles. Common diseases: Downy mildew, powdery mildew, Botrytis (gray mold) in humid conditions.
